Galerie Kurzweil - Proxima Centauri w/ Chez Damier / Disco Sour / New Sound Order / Dawit Cieo / Safa

Proxima Centauri invites no other than legend Chez Damier!

American DJ and producer Chez Damier is one of the central figures of Detroit techno. He has been active in many functions since the 1980s. As manager for Kevin Saunderson's up-and-coming label KMS, he helped techno to break through on the international stage in the late 80s with hits like "Big Fun".

As a producer he has been releasing his own tracks since 1992, including classics such as "Can You Feel It" on KMS Records. Later he often worked together with Ron Trent, founding the label Prescription with him in Chicago, which rose to become one of the most important house labels of the early days with releases by Trent, Damier and Romanthony.

Chez Damier was denied the big commercial breakthrough, only when a new generation of DJs and producers discovered the founding fathers of house and techno at the end of the noughties was he also celebrated with great passion for his many achievements.

At Tresorraum New Sound Order will take control all night with a new style of house music from South Africa, which is revolutionizing the whole music scene at the moment: Amapiano.

In short, Amapiano mixes the typical deep-house sound with the music genres Kwaito, Gqom, jazz and folk, which also come from South Africa. Amapiano tracks typically have a speed of 111 to 113 beats per minute. Amapiano is slower than average house music, but it grooves a lot more.
